my days: getting back
my days: getting back
starting to get back
my ills since spring 2011 have kept me unable to do the physical work that is painting. my media and the practice of it on panels of composition board approaching seven feet square is not something to be done close on abdominal surgery. my studio, always barely ahead of the elements given its 18th century building technology (no heat, frequently leaking roof, no plumbing, barn pests) is a work of maintenance in itself. i am just now feeling well enough to do what was needed last spring, as far as re-lining the ceiling with plastic sheeting to control the aforementioned elements and dust. i started by moving the pieces that need attention, and here i’m just looking them over, reacquainting myself with what i was doing before my bout with cancer.
